Gary Cope, President of Barsele Minerals on Loads of Gold in Sweden
President of Barsele Minerals Corp., Gary Cope speaks about their large gold project in Northern Sweden.
What I’m known for is Orko Silver which we took from a very small, early deposit to 275 million ounces and eventually sold it to Coeur Minerals for 375 million.
The focus of Barsele is a very large gold project in northern Sweden, typical northern Arctic country.
It’s probably the best place in the world to find a new mine. Sweden and Finland were one and two, taxation incentives for the north, lots of power and cheap power and a very skilled workforce.
Also, our joint venture partner and operator is Agnico Eagle and the focus is gold. The biggest part of the joint venture in regards to Barsele is that we have no capital outlay.
Moreover, we are carried by Agnico Eagle to pre-feasibility before we’d have to put up any money and we think that’s a year and a half to two years away at minimum.
What’s on the horizon for Barsele is a lot more drilling, Agnico has found new areas that need drilling.
One particular area is three or four kilometers to the south of the known zones as well as infill drilling on the main three-kilometer zone.
We’re really excited about the new 43-101 resource that has just come out. And this addition of many hundreds of thousands of ounces, of quality ounces, is very exciting for us.
