Boosh Food: Plant-Based Comfort Food

Accessible 100% plant-based comfort foods

Boosh Food, has developed high-quality, non-GMO, gluten-free, 100% plant-based nutritional comfort foods for the whole family. The company currently offers six frozen meals which are sold throughout Canada. Furthermore, in the summer they’ll be expanding their meals to include three refrigerated products. “Our goal is to make plant-based food more accessible and more delicious and make sure everybody’s eating their veggies,” says President and Founder, Connie Marples.

The company has four Boosh bowls, two are pasta based and two are rice-based. The pasta dishes are made with organic brown rice pasta, and the rice bowls are made up with brown rice, quinoa, hemp, chia flax and pumpkin seeds. Currently, Boosh’s lineup is frozen and consumers can either pop them in the oven or the microwave. However, they also have a new line of products coming out in the chill section that you don’t even have to thaw.

“A tremendous amount of capital is going to be transferred from the animal protein-based world to the plant-based world. We’re seeing reports up to 1.4 trillion dollars from Bloomberg by 2050,” says CEO, Jim Pakulis.

Boosh Food’s products are currently on the shelves of 375 stores across Canada, and the company is planning an aggressive expansion into the US market.

“I don’t see this being a fad. I see this truly being a staple,” says Pakulis.
