BTV Looks at Resource Stocks Making their Mark
BTV – Business Television examines oil and gas, gold, zinc and copper companies on the rise.
NorZinc (NZC:TSX, NORZF:OTCQB)NorZinc is a development company with one of the highest-grade undeveloped zinc lead deposits. In Newfoundland, the company owns an extensive land package that it is exploring for zinc-lead-copper-gold-silver deposits. The flagship project is the Prairie Creek Project in the Northwest Territories.
High-grade silver, zinc and leadThe company expects its wholly-owned Prairie Creek Mine, located in the Mackenzie Mountains of the Northwest Territories, to start producing at the earliest date possible. The mine has substantial resources of high-grade silver, zinc and lead.
Copper Mountain Mining Corp. (CMMC:TSX, C6C:ASX)The Copper Mountain mine produces copper concentrates with gold and silver credits by means of a conventional crushing, grinding and flotation circuit. Covering an area of about 18,000 acres, the mineral claims consist of 135 crown grants, 176 mineral claims and 14 mining leases. Accessible by highways and paved roads, the mine is located about 20 km south of Princeton BC and conveniently located near the port of Vancouver, which provides shipment for copper concentrates. Based on its reserves, the mine’s mine life is about 14 years. The average annual production is approximately 90 million pounds of copper equivalent and there is potential for more.
Plans for ExpansionThe company plans to explore and possibly integrate the nearby New Ingerbelle Project into the Copper Mountain mine plan. Also, Copper Mountain has recently acquired a property in Australia, located 75 km from the town of Cloncurry and 95 km from Queensland. Accessible by air and road, the Eva Copper Project has water and power available through a 220kV power line. With all the licenses and ready to be developed, it is expected to increase production in millions of pounds of copper.
Permex Petroleum Corp. (OIL:CSE)Permex is a junior oil and gas company with assets and operations across the Permian Basin of west Texas and the Delaware Sub-Basin of New Mexico. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Permex Petroleum US Corporation, the company can operate in United States on Private, State and Federal land. Currently focus is on the West Henshaw Unit in New Mexico.
The company’s historyThe West Henshaw Unit was formed in January 1966 with Mobil Oil Corporation as the operator. The primary production at unitization was 1,735 MBO from 41 producing oil wells. The waterflood began in December 1966 and lasted 14 years. Currently there are nine producing wells, four saltwater disposal wells, and an estimated waterflood production of 2,500 MBO. Permex Petroleum is now set to restore production of the West Henshaw Premier Unit in Eddy County, by stimulating the wells with acid treatments. Covering 4,198 square miles, Eddy County is located in the Delaware basin, 12 miles northeast of Loco Hills, New Mexico.
Plans for the futureIn addition to restoring production from the wells in West Henshaw Premier Unit, the company plans to study the Bone Springs and lower Wolfcamp potential on the same site, and drill additional Premier sand wells. To achieve scale growth, the company combines its low-cost development of Held by Production Assets (HBP) with the current and future Blue-Sky projects.
Bonterra Resources (BTR:TSX.V, BONXD:OTCQX)A Canadian gold exploration company located in the province of Quebec, with a diverse portfolio of exploration and mining assets. Currently the company is advancing to completion of a wide updated NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate. Bonterra controls the only permitted gold mill in the Urban Barry Camp, where it owns about 20,815 hectares of land. Part of their portfolio are the Gladiator, Barry and Moroy deposits, Urban-Barry Mill, and several other exploration prospects that have already shown potential.
The Gladiator, Moroy and Barry DepositsLocally, the Gladiator Deposit exhibits intrusions of syenite, quartz porphyry and smoky quartz veining, containing the bulk of mineralization and free gold. The Moroy Deposit is a system with potential to intersect the main trend of the Bachelor mine. With development and drilling projects underway, the company has completed more than 65,000 m of surface and underground drilling. From 2008 to 2010, they have extracted 43,970 ounces of gold from three small pits at the Barry Deposit. Currently, the focus is on an underground development aimed to start a bulk sampling program in 2019. The company plans to fast track these three high-grade gold deposits to show the flag in the mining-friendly province of Quebec.
Telson Mining Corp. (TSN:TSX.V)A Canadian junior resource mining company operating two gold, silver and base metal mining projects in Mexico, the Tahuehueto and the Campo Morado projects. The Campo Morado mine, located in Guerrero, had begun commercial operation in May 2018, three months ahead of schedule. Now the goal there is to increase the throughput at the mill to 2,500 tonnes per day. The Tahuehueto Project in Durango State is currently in pre-production at about 200 tonnes per day. It has entered a construction phase and is expected to be milling at least 1,000 tonnes in 2019.
Tahuehueto ProjectIt consists of 28 mining concessions grouped into five non-contiguous blocks in approximately 7,492 hectares within Sierra Madre mineral belt. Situated about 100 km from the silver mines in the Guanacevi region and about 25 km north of the silver mines at Topia, the project is in an advanced stage of development. Telson Mining owns 100% of the project through a 99,9% share ownership in its Mexican subsidiary company.
Campo MoradoThis is an underground multi-metal mine with a long history of commissions and takeover changes. Farallon Resources first and then Nyrstar controlled Campo Morado up to the end of 2014, when operations were suspended due to deteriorating industry conditions. Finally, in June 2017 Telson acquired 100% of the Campo Morado mine. The infrastructure, installations and equipment there are capable of processing 2,500 tonnes of ore per day. To the end of 2014, there had been identified seven mineralized zones containing:
- 7 million tons of measured and indicated resources grading 3.76 zinc, 0.88% copper, 081% lead, 106 g/t Ag and 1.34 g/t Au
- an additional 2.15 million tons of inferred mineral resources as calculated and released by Nyrstar in 2009.
