Excellon Resources is focused on silver in Peru, where the company is working to restart a past-producing underground operation built around silver-lead-zinc vein mineralization. The operation includes a 600-tonne-per-day processing plant, approximately 30 kilometres of underground mine development and existing mine infrastructure.
The company plans to produce two primary concentrates: a lead concentrate containing the majority of the silver, and a separate zinc concentrate.
Exploration is also central to the strategy. Three drill rigs are currently active across the mine as Excellon looks for wider mineralized zones that could support greater mechanization and help supply the processing plant at an average rate of 600 tonnes per day. Management also plans to begin drilling the Tres Cerros target around the middle of next year.
As Excellon moves through its transition from developer toward producer, management’s objective is to reach free cash flow while continuing to explore and redevelop the broader district in central Peru.
