Why is Element 29 Resources exploring for copper in Peru?
Element 29 Resources is advancing copper exploration at its Elida project in Peru, expanding drilling to grow its maiden resource and test the potential for a large-scale deposit tied to the growing demand for copper in the global energy transition.

Copper is increasingly central to the global energy transition.

From electric grids and renewable infrastructure to electric vehicles, copper plays a critical role in moving energy from where it is generated to where it is used.

Element 29 Resources is focused on discovering and expanding copper deposits capable of supporting that demand.

The company’s name reflects that focus. Element 29 refers to copper’s atomic number on the periodic table, emphasizing its strategy around one of the most important industrial metals.

According to President and CEO Richard Osmond, finding large new copper deposits is becoming increasingly difficult.

Many of the world’s most accessible discoveries have already been made.

Element 29’s flagship Elida project in Peru is the company’s primary exploration focus. A maiden resource estimate was announced in late 2022 based on approximately 14,000 metres of drilling.

Since then, exploration has expanded significantly.

The company has now completed more than 23,000 metres of drilling, with the program advancing toward roughly 25,000 metres total. The latest drill hole announced in January 2026 included over 1,500 mters of continuoous mineralization that averaged 0.56% copper equivalent, with the grade getting better at depth. Elida is open at depth and along trend.

The objective is to expand the scale of the deposit.

Management believes additional drilling could potentially double the open-pit resource while significantly expanding the broader in-situ mineralization footprint.

Beyond Elida, the company controls three additional copper exploration projects, which remain largely untested.
