Northstar Clean Technologies: Transforming Roofing Waste into Valuable Resources
Northstar Clean Technologies addresses the significant issue of asphalt shingle waste by recycling shingles into reusable materials, promoting a sustainable and eco-friendly solution.

Northstar Clean Technologies Targets Sustainable Solutions for Asphalt Shingle Waste
In 2022, an astounding 16.5 million tons of roofing shingles were discarded into landfills across North America. Northstar Clean Technologies, led by President and CEO Aidan Mills, is tackling this substantial environmental challenge by transforming asphalt shingles into reusable materials. Their innovative process deconstructs shingles into asphalt, aggregate, and fiberglass or paper fiber, significantly reducing landfill waste and the need for new resources. Northstar's facilities aim to divert approximately 40,000 tons of shingle waste per year, contributing to a 100% landfill diversion goal. By working closely with municipalities and strategic partners, Northstar Clean Technologies is poised to sell these reprocessed materials to major road paving companies and shingle manufacturers, marking a significant step forward in sustainable industrial practices.
