Projects in both Canada and Ghana
Pelangio Exploration is a gold exploration company with projects in Canada and Ghana. Both of these are historically significant gold mining jurisdictions. The Company operates with a strategy designed to capitalize upon property acquisition opportunities arising during bear markets that are positioned for the bull market’s wealth creation.
Its exploration properties are leveraged by a project generator model. This aides the company in sustaining the costs associated with geological study, corporate governance, as well as exploration field work.
The company’s most well-known project generation success was the acquisition, exploration, re-envisioning, and subsequent sale of the Detour Lake deposit in Northern Ontario to Detour Gold Corporation. This property is now a long life, large-scale open pit mining operation. It also has reserves of over 16 million ounces of gold.
Properties in Canada
Pelangio controls a number of early-stage properties in Ontario in areas with active and historic mining activities. The current focus for Pelangio is on two of its Canadian Properties; the recently acquired Dome West and Dalton properties, both located in Timmins, Ontario. Another of Pelangio’s strategic projects is the Birch Lake property located in the Red Lake Mining District which is a combination of Pelangio’s Birch Lake property and the recently acquired Keigat Lake claims. Pelangio also has the Poirier Gold and Hemlo property, both of which are located in Ontario, Canada.
Projects in Ghana
Pelangio also controls three projects in Ghana, West Africa in areas of historic mining activities. Ghana has a rich and colourful mining history spanning over a century and is one of the most prolific gold producing counties in Africa, having mined approximately 60 million ounces of gold. Pelangio’s Obuasi project is located contiguous with AngloGold Ashanti’s world-class Obuasi gold mine within the prolific 300-kilometre-long Ashanti Gold Belt in southwest Ghana. The Obuasi mine has produced over 33 million ounces of gold since 1897.
