Chris Thompson, Mining Analyst at PI Financial, is feeling optimistic about the future of exploration and mining in the Yukon.
"I believe we're on the cusp at the moment of something really exciting in the Yukon. We're seeing a lot of the exploration and development opportunities flourish and progress towards maybe production", says Thompson.

Mining and exploration is growing in the Yukon. The graph below shows the exploration and development investments in the mining industry in Canada's Yukon Territory from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, the investments on mineral exploration in the Yukon amounted to some 90 million Canadian dollars.
