Delta 9 Cannabis is a vertically integrated cannabis company focused on bringing the highest quality cannabis products to market. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Delta 9 Bio-Tech Inc., is a licensed producer of medical and recreational cannabis. It operates a 80,000 square foot production facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The company also owns and operates a chain of retail stores under the Delta 9 Cannabis Store brand.
Further, the company has exercised its right to purchase the 47 contiguous acres of land that their current facility resides adjacent to, as well as an additional 180,000 square feet of warehouse space on the additional acres to facilitate their rapid expansion.
Delta 9's Vertical Grow Pods
In addition, Delta 9’s proprietary Grow Pod systems have revealed another unique revenue channel for the company. The built-in-house pods are modular, scalable, stackable, and now, available for purchase. The Grow Pod systems utilize Delta 9’s standardized hydroponic growing methodologies while allowing for complete climate control and vertical space utilization, with built-in risk mitigation measures. Vertical space utilization can double or triple production space as the Grow Pods can be stacked upon one another. The self-contained Grow Pods prevent the spread of contaminants such as mites or powdery mildew, thus preventing catastrophic and expensive crop failures. The Pods, while economical for Delta 9 to produce in their facility, hold great earning potential for the company.
This entirely vertically integrated growth strategy will allow Delta 9 to fill out its current production facility with as many as 600 pods, thus growing their output capability to 17,000 kilograms of high-grade cannabis/year by 2020.
