Aukam Graphite is the lump-vein variety and is directly comparable to that found in Sri Lanka. However, it is much more accessible due to its location. There is an extremely reduced potential for damage to local flora and fauna because the Aukam Graphite Project resides in a desert environment. This locale is also ideal for an open pit operation, which is Gratomic’s goal for late 2021. Furthermore, the site is free of deleterious elements, which allows for a much cleaner and more efficient processing of the mineral, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

Aukam Graphite Project

Gratomic’s Aukam Graphite Project is located in Namibia, Africa, which shares the Northern border with South Africa. Namibia gained its independence in 1990 and has established a very stable economic and political environment. In fact, Namibia is one of the most desirable mining jurisdictions in the world. The Aukam property covers a historical vein graphite mine that consists of five adits and an open pit. Associated with the old workings are five surface stockpiles that still contain significant graphitic material. Data obtained over the past 8 years of the project has led to a better understanding of the quality and distribution of the graphite mineralization at Aukam. In particular, exploration has demonstrated significant potential for expansion of the mineralization outside the old workings.
