Chris Taylor, President & CEO of Great Bear Resources speaks about the company's key gold project in Ontario.
"Great Bear was one of the top performing junior mining exploration stories in the market in 2018. We're on top of a major gold discovery at this point in our view. We've been issuing a series of very nice high grade gold results, very shallow high grade gold intercepts. Our key project is our Dixie Lake property, that's a very high grade gold discovery just off the side of the highway that goes into the Red Lake Camp of Ontario. It has very good infrastructure access, low exploration costs and a lot of the money that we raise goes right into the ground and generates more gold results. We're going to be one of the most active exploration programs this year in Canada in terms of the number of drill holes completed. We put many years of effort in place to be an overnight success. I've been with Great Bear myself for about nine years now. That's something that most CEOs of a junior resource company cannot say. So we are very careful about structuring good shareholders, a good project to complete 100 percent ownership and no royalties on our project prior to getting busy with our exploration program in the first place. We've been seeing high grade gold at such an exceptional rate. It's just so exciting to see that much gold come from so close to the surface. It's really a once in a lifetime type of experience for most geologists." - Chris Taylor, President & CEO of Great Bear Resources
The Dixie property is located approximately 15 minutes’ drive along Highway 105 from downtown Red Lake, Ontario. The Red Lake mining district has produced over 30,000,000 ounces of gold and is one of the premier mining districts in Canada, benefitting from major active mining operations including the Red Lake Gold Mine of Goldcorp Inc., plus modern infrastructure and a skilled workforce. The Dixie property covers a drill and geophysically defined 10 kilometre gold mineralized structure similar to that hosting other producing gold mines in the district. In addition, Great Bear is also earning a 100% royalty-free interest in the West Madsen, Pakwash, Dedee and Sobel properties, which cover regionally significant gold-controlling structures and prospective geology. All of Great Bear’s Red Lake projects are accessible year-round through existing roads.
