Klondike Gold: What could rewrite the story of the Klondike district?

Drilling reveals both large low-grade zones and new high-grade vein discoveries across the district.

Klondike Gold Corp. has identified bedrock mineralization beneath the historic Klondike Gold Fields, outlining an initial resource of 581,000 ounces and discovering new high-grade veins from one ounce to more than 100 ounces of gold, with an updated resource planned for 2027.

More than a century after the Klondike Gold Rush, Klondike Gold Corp. is working to answer a question that has lingered for generations: what is the true bedrock source of the 20 million ounces recovered from surface gravels?

After ten years of drilling, the company published its first mineral resource in 2021, outlining 581,000 ounces of shallow open-pit mineralization. Management describes this milestone as the first proof that gold exists in the underlying bedrock rather than only in placer deposits.

Since that initial estimate, exploration has expanded significantly. Drilling has outlined kilometre-scale zones of low-grade mineralization while also revealing high-grade veins ranging from one ounce to more than 100 ounces of gold. Leadership notes that neither style of mineralization had previously been recognized in the district.

Infrastructure close to the claims

The property covers 727 square kilometres across the historic gold rush area yet remains close to modern services. Roads, a power substation, an airport capable of landing large aircraft, and proximity to Dawson City provide logistical advantages for ongoing exploration.

From 2022 to today, the company has completed 19,000 metres of drilling with plans for another 8,000 metres. Most holes have intersected mineralization, and an updated resource is expected at the end of 2026, to be published in early 2027.

What investors should watch next

  • Results from the additional 8,000 metres of drilling
  • Definition of high-grade vein potential
  • The 2027 resource update and scale of upgrade
  • Expansion of kilometre-scale mineralized zones

The company has a 32,000-metre drill program fully funded, expected to run through the rest of the year. The goal is to continue defining the newly recognized structures and build what management calls a “very developable resource.”
