Focused on the Bethania Silver Mine in Central Peru
Kuya Silver is a Canadian-based silver-focused mining company. They're earning into an 80% interest in the Bethania Silver Mine, located in Central Peru. Bethania was in production until 2016, toll-milling its ore at various other concentrate plants in the region. Kuya’s plan is to implement an expansion and construct a concentrate plant at site before restarting operations. Bethania produced silver-lead and zinc concentrates from the run of mine material until being placed on care and maintenance due to market conditions and lack of working capital. It is expected that shortly after the closing of the Transaction, Kuya will close its acquisition of the 80% interest in the Bethania Silver Mine.
More on Bethania Silver
The Bethania Silver Mine is located 170 kilometers southeast of Lima and is road accessible. It consists of a swarm of silver veins with miner gold and base metals. Further, these have been mined on and off for the past 40 years.
"We see the opportunity to significantly expand production and dramatically lower costs by installing a new plant at site," says Founder and President, David Stein.
David is well known in Toronto and has been in the mining scene for many years. "He's got a good team in Peru. He's built the mining team that's really geared towards narrow silver mining," says Dr. Quinton Hennigh. With their exploration program, they're looking to increase resources to justify a second expansion down the road.
"There are very few true silver mining companies out there for investors, companies that derive most of their revenue from silver and we'll be one of them. Not only do we have exciting exploration potential, but we believe we can ramp up silver production very quickly." says Stein.
