ION Energy is poised to become a significant player in Asia’s booming lithium market with one of the largest exploration licenses in Mongolia. They are an early stage lithium-ion explorer in Mongolia. Further, they hold an 81 thousand hectare licence.
The Company is a lithium exploration company targeting a prospective brine project in Mongolia. Moreover, the project would represent the first lithium brine mining license award in Mongolia’s history. The project is, in fact, located in the arid Gobi desert, with high evaporation rates and low precipitation rates that are considered optimal for lithium brine extraction. Additionally, early assay results returned an average grade of 426 ppm.
Mongolia is a low-cost year round operating environment and early work indicates shallow aquifers.
