On track to be the next development mine in the Northwest Territories

NorZinc, headquartered in Vancouver, is a premium mine developer specializing in high-grade silver, zinc, and lead. The company has an experienced management team and board along with an established site infrastructure. NorZinc is currently developing the Prairie Creek Mine, a project with a long mine-life and significant expansion potential. In fact, their Prairie Creek property is on track to be the next development mine in the Northwest Territories.

"It is one of the highest-grade undeveloped projects of its nature in the world. It also has a significant size," says President and CEO, Don MacDonald.

About Prairie Creek Mine

The Prairie Creek Mine is located in traditional Dene territory in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The project consists of the mine and surrounding land and access. "What attracted me to the company was the significant high grade of the mine. It's 23 percent zinc equivalent. It has a lot of silver in it," says MacDonald.

Originally the feasibility study from three years ago, had silver with the silver prices where they were, making about 15, 16 percent of the total revenue. Now it's pushing 30 percent of the revenue. Further, in the next 18 months, NorZinc is not only planning to build the mine as per the original feasibility study but based upon what they now know. NorZinc expects to increase the throughput by 50 percent as well as increase the reserves by 50 percent through drilling.

Additionally, the company expects to start to actually build part of the project early next year and be in production by the end of 2024.
