Moving towards opening their first gold mine in Nunavut

Back River Gold District
Sabina Gold & Silver has been developing the 80 kilometer long Back River Gold District since 2009. Further, the project is advanced, large, district scale, fully permitted with a social license in hand and is in Nunavut, Canada: one of the world's best mining jurisdictions. Pre-development construction has also begun with the Project's Port Facility and Winter Ice Road being completed. "We’ll be amongst the highest grade open pit gold mines in the world, at over six grams", says CEO, Bruce McLeod.
Back River Gold District is composed of two primary parts - being the George Project, which is about two million ounces in aggregate at over five grams. Secondly, there is the Goose Project that Sabina has been focusing on since 2009.
The company estimates that when the Goose Mine is fully up and running, it will produce close to 230,000 oz per year for 152 years. anticipates many more years of exploration and development. In addition, Sabina owns 5 other claims in the district and anticipates many more years of exploration and development. Back River is destined to be a multi-generational asset with the George property becoming the next focus for development.
