Sierra Madre Gold & Silver is expanding its Mexican silver and gold operations, combining production at La Guitarra with the acquisition of Del Toro as it works toward becoming a mid-tier silver producer.
Sierra Madre Gold & Silver has undergone a significant transformation, moving from exploration into commercial production at its100%-owned La Guitarra silver-gold mine in Mexico. Commercial production began in early 2025, and the company is now targeting a tripling of its current 500-tonne-per-day nameplate capacity by Q3 2027.
The company has also acquired Del Toro, a fully permitted, past-producing silver asset in Zacatecas with approximately 3,000 tonnes per day of processing capacity. Management sees an opportunity to restart production while exploring additional mineralization across the property.
Beyond production growth, Sierra Madre is planning 30,000-metre drilling programs at both La Guitarra and Del Toro over the next 18 months.
With positive operating cash flow, First Majestic Silver as a major shareholder, and two permitted Mexican mining assets, Sierra Madre is pursuing a longer-term goal of producing 10–12 million ounces of silver annually, as outlined by management.
