Lithium Chile: Building a Large Lithium Producer in Chile

May 11, 2021

Large diversified lithium portfolio

Lithium Chile owns fourteen projects on Li-rich salars in Chile, making it the largest landholder of lithium salars outside the Chilean govt. and SQM. The portfolio includes 166,150 hectares of Chilean salars staked for $3/ha. The top priority projects have high-grade lithium and positive chemistry results from sampling, as well as community approval to drill.

Lithium Chile boasts a management team with proven leadership in the lithium space, as well as an experienced, Chilean-based technical team. Furthermore, the lithium-ion battery sector continues to see sustained, high growth which is forecast to continue long term.

"We have very little operating costs. We have very little maintenance costs. And we're debt-free," says President and CEO, Steve Cochrane.

Acquisition and exploration began in April 2016. Geochemical and geophysics programs are complete and drill targeting is complete. Moreover, community approval (mandatory in Chile) has already been obtained or is at an advanced stage for the top projects and a multi-project drill program is upcoming.

The jurisdiction advantages are significant. Chile has the world’s largest, high-grade lithium reserves and lowest-cost lithium production. It is also investor-friendly, with one of the world’s most streamlined mining codes, facilitating low-cost acquisition and rapid exploration. Additionally, the projects have good access to infrastructure and the company’s exploration team is based in Chile.
