Erdene Resources is emerging as a new gold producer in Mongolia, having achieved commercial production in Q1 2026 at its high-grade, open-pit Bayan Khundii gold mine. With average gold grades from 3 to 3.5 grams per tonne, the company is targeting production of approximately 75,000 ounces of gold annually, using its operating mine to generate cash flow to expand and extend the mine's life.
Beyond its producing asset, Erdene has identified more than 20 exploration targets that form part of a broader development pipeline that includes additional gold, copper and molybdenum projects, offering potential for further discoveries and resource expansion as the company strives to become a multi-commodity, multi-mine business.
With commercial gold production established, a high-grade operating mine and multiple exploration targets, Erdene Resources is pursuing a strategy of funding future mine development through operating cash flow, positioning itself for long-term growth in Mongolia's mining sector.
