Re-establishing Yellowknife as one of the premier gold mining districts in Canada
Gold Terra has assembled a highly prospective district scale land position. It lays on the doorstep of the City of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. The company is currently focusing on expanding and delineating gold resources at the company’s Yellowknife City Gold Project. Moreover, with ready access to infrastructure and multiple new high-grade gold discoveries, Gold Terra is on track to re-establishing Yellowknife as one of the premier gold mining districts in Canada.
About the Yellowknife City Gold project
The Yellowknife City Gold project (YCG) project encompasses 800 sq. km of contiguous land immediately north, south and east of the City of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Through a series of acquisitions, Gold Terra controls one of the six major high-grade gold camps in Canada. Further, being within 10 kilometres of the City of Yellowknife, the YCG is close to vital infrastructure. This includes all-season roads, air transportation, service providers, hydro-electric power, as well as skilled tradespeople.
"We surround a city that is steeped in a mining culture and a history of past production, it's tremendous," says CEO & President, David Suda.
Additionally, the YCG lies on the prolific Yellowknife greenstone belt, covering nearly 70 kilometres of strike length along the main mineralized shear system that host the former-producing high-grade Con and Giant gold mines. The company's exploration programs have successfully identified significant zones of gold mineralization and multiple targets that remain to be tested.
"The Campbell Shear was a producer of 13 million ounces of high-grade gold. So, as we drill the extension of it, we think that we can add two to five million ounces relatively quickly," says Suda.
