According to analyst, Stefan Ioannou, there are three things that are key to investing in the mining sector. First, it's a very high-risk sector in general so you have to be risk-tolerant. Secondly, it's a very cyclical business. Therefore, timing in terms of entry and exit points for investments is very important. Finally, a key thing to realize is that overlying macro sentiment can really outplay companies' specific news so a company can have great results.
