A Growing Demand for Palladium
Generation Mining is a mineral development company focusing on the Marathon Palladium Project in Northern Ontario. Marathon is the largest undeveloped PGM deposit in North America.
The company completed a PEA in early 2020. They plan to follow up with a Definitive Feasibility Study beginning in Q1, 2020.
"Palladium is a really interesting commodity. It's required by the government to be in every gasoline car that sold in the world. World production of Palladium has not increased over the last 20 years, while
consumption has increased. As a result, there's a shortage." says Kerry Knoll, Executive Chairman.
Marathon Palladium Project
Generation Mining owns a 51% interest (with an option to earn up to an 80% interest) in the Marathon PGM deposit. The 220 square-km property covers nearly the entire Coldwell Complex. The company’s property hosts three known PGM-Copper deposits.
Generation Mining released a PEA on January 7, 2020. In fact, the study provides a compelling base case assessment for the development of the Marathon Palladium Mineral Resource by open pit mining.
To date, more than 200,000 meters of drilling, in over 1000 holes, have been drilled on the property. This drilling has been the subject of feasibility studies and numerous mineral resource estimates.
The property is located near Marathon, Ontario, near excellent infrastructure. The Trans-Canada highway runs through the property, while the main line of the railway runs nearby. Additionally, a new power line is currently being built from Wawa to Thunder Bay and will also cross the property. The town of Marathon offers an excellent staging point for any future mine construction.
